Development of social-emotional learning (SEL) skills such as self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making contribute to the long-term success of children and youth. SEL skills help children learn, adapt to changing learning environments, and be more resilient in conflict and crisis settings. Integrating SEL into education policies and programming is a critical part of achieving UN Sustainable Development Goal 4.7, to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
RTI and NISSEM invite you to a panel discussion examining recent donor policies on SEL and the NISSEM Global Briefs, a collection of peer-reviewed essays from more than 60 authors providing practical insights for integrating SEL into policies, programs, curricula, materials, and practice. Panelists include representatives from the donor community, authors of several of the briefs, and experts from current SEL programs, all of whom will discuss their experiences and lessons learned from implementing SEL in early grade reading activities, crisis and conflict areas, and low-resource settings. Lunch and light refreshments will be provided.
The webcast will begin at 1:00 p.m. Click here to join the webcast.
